Deeper-Cleaning, Healthier Carpet Cleaning Method Takes Giant Leap with New Invention
Chem-Dry, World’s Largest Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning Service, Announces Launch of XTS System
Nashville, TN – As consumers around the world look forward to ringing in a New Year, they can also celebrate a new invention that marks a new era in the carpet cleaning industry.
Chem-Dry, the world’s leading carpet and upholstery cleaning service known for its green-certified solution and carbonating cleaning process, has announced the nationwide rollout of its new XTS (cross-over truck mount system). Because the XTS is a smaller, more portable and more affordable unit for franchise owners, it will make Chem-Dry’s exclusive hot carbonating extraction cleaning process significantly more accessible to homeowners around the world. Chem-Dry has 3,500 locations in 35 countries, employing more than 8,000 technicians who clean over 10,000 homes a day.
“The XTS system is a true game changer not only for Chem-Dry, but for the entire carpet cleaning industry,” said Dan Tarantin, CEO of Chem-Dry. “Its portability and lower upfront and operational costs will make it easier for our current franchise owners to expand into new areas and allow more entrepreneurs to join the market leader by becoming Chem-Dry franchisees. Best of all, the XTS will enable us to greatly expand our reach and use Chem-Dry’s superior cleaning process to make more homes and work places cleaner and healthier places to be.”
While most professional carpet cleaners use steam cleaning, which drives heavy amounts of soapy water into carpets at high pressure and then tries to suck it all back out, Chem-Dry harnesses the natural properties and power of carbonation with its exclusive “hot carbonating extraction” cleaning process. Chem-Dry’s deep-cleaning, green-certified solution contains millions of carbonation bubbles that penetrate deep into the carpet fibers and safely release dirt from the base of the carpet so they can be easily extracted. Unlike steam cleaning where water can soak through to the carpet backing and create a breeding ground for mold and mildew, Chem-Dry’s environmentally friendly process uses 80 percent less water than typical steam cleaning and thus creates a healthier home or work place. And because it uses so much less water, drying time is drastically reduced such that carpets and upholstery cleaned by Chem-Dry dry in a couple of hours rather than a couple of days.
Cutting in half the cost of a traditional Chem-Dry truck-mounted hot carbonating extraction cleaning system, the new XTS system delivers the same cleaning effectiveness and dry time. It also allows the franchise owner to purchase a smaller, less expensive van that offers the added benefits of having lower ongoing fuel costs and being better for the environment. While the extraction power with the company’s existing truck-mounted system is located in the van, the XTS places the extraction power directly on top of the PowerHead cleaning unit, much closer to the carpet. So in addition to being portable with a compact footprint, the XTS’s innovative design offers optimized vacuum efficiency. All of Chem-Dry’s XTS equipment models have received a platinum rating, the highest level, from the Carpet and Rug Institute’s Seal of Approval program, which evaluates key performance criteria including soil removal, carpet texture retention and rate of resoiling after a carpet or rug cleaning has taken place..
Chem-Dry has begun shipping its first batch of XTS units, going to recent as well as long-time franchise owners in markets ranging from New York to California. The XTS system is expected to be a popular equipment option among incoming new Chem-Dry franchise buyers as well.
