Cleaning for the Cause
Chem-Dry goes PINK for breast cancer
Chem-Dry is dedicated to raising money for breast cancer programs through its support of NBCF year-round because breast cancer isn't active just in October. In two years, the Cleaning for the Cause program has donated almost $100,000 to NBCF. Chem-Dry is again making a big commitment for 2013 by pledging to donate $30,000 this year to fight breast cancer.
Get involved - How you can help
You can help Chem-Dry reach it's goal of donating $30,000 this year by joining Cleaning for the Cause in one of the following ways:
1. Buy special PINK cans of the World Famous Spot Remover. Participating local Chem-Dry operators are offering special Pink cans of the World Famous Spot Remover for purchase. With every can you purchase, $1 is donated to NBCF. Ask your local Chem-Dry for a special PINK can today. It’s that easy for you to make a difference.
2. Use a participating franchise in October. During October, many Chem-Dry franchise operators create their own promotions and special offers which benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation. To find a participating franchise near you for current specials that benefit the Cleaning for the Cause, visit our zipcode locator and select a franchise name with a pink ribbon icon next to their name. You can also identify a participating franchise by the “Cleaning for the Cause” sticker placed on their van or on top of their cleaning unit.
3. Donate directly to NBCF. You can help Chem-Dry reach its commitment of raising money to continue funding free mammograms and educational programs by donating directly to NBCF. Click the donate button below and choose to donate any amount you like to support Chem-Dry's Cleaning for the Cause.
Giving help for today and hope for tomorrow
All across the nation, Chem-Dry franchises are Cleaning for the Cause to support breast cancer education.
Everyone knows someone that has been impacted by breast cancer - themself, a mother, wife, sister, or a friend. That is why Chem-Dry has teamed up with the National Breast Cancer Foundation to join the fight against one of the most common cancers in women.
Did you know that nearly 200,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year alone? One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. But there is hope. NBCF is committed to spreading knowledge and fostering hope in the fight against breast cancer and to save lives by increasing awareness through education and by providing mammograms for those in need. And Chem-Dry is proud to support NBCF through our Cleaning for the Cause fundraising initiative in order to provide women with help for today and hope for tomorrow.
Why we care
Cleaning for the Cause is very personal to many in our Chem-Dry family because they have seen the effects of breast cancer first-hand. Here are some of our franchise owners' personal stories and why they support breast cancer awareness by Cleaning for the Cause:
Barry Shatwell, owner of A-OK Chemdry in Algonquin, Illinois, went with his wife to the doctor when she discovered a lump in her breast and soon heard the words no one wants to hear, “You have breast cancer.” Barry sat there unable to comprehend how the universe had just changed. Barry and his wife took a proactive approach, trying numerous procedures and medications, but the cancer spread. Barry’s wife lasted a year, dying two days before their 35th wedding anniversary. Barry passionately fundraises through Chem-Dry’s Cleaning for the Cause campaign because, as he learned, breast cancer doesn't just attack an individual...it devastates an entire family.
