A Greener and Cleaner Bellingham: - Johns Chem-Dry of Whatcom County Cleans Up with Latest Truck-mount Cleaning Equipment

Chem-Dry carpet cleaning franchise owner, John Hess of Bellingham, WA is pioneering a new greener way to clean. His new 4800 Direct Drive truck mount system is saving on carpet drying time, energy consumption and is creating more efficient technician work to ultimately save the customer money.

(Bellingham, WA) – Going green might seem difficult when it comes to the traditionally ‘chemical heavy’ industry of carpet cleaning. But, Chem-Dry franchise owners are setting new expectations in green cleaning by using established product formulas mixed with ultra-efficient modern equipment. The results are proving beneficial to the homeowner, the operator and the environment.

John’s Chem-Dry of Whatcom County recently decreased their energy consumption and increased cleaning results leaving customers quick-drying and deeply cleaned carpets.  John Hess, the company’s owner, says the secret to providing more service is in his new truck-mount cleaning equipment: the Chem-Dry 4800 Direct Drive system by Hydramaster. Hess is the first of more than 2,000 Chem-Dry franchises to use the Direct Drive unit.
"One engine is running, just like before, but the Chem Dry Direct Drive is more efficient because you are using the fuel injected engine from the vehicle,” said Todd Cole, Chem-Dry’s Specialty Sales Coordinator.
Hess has been cleaning carpets since before he could drive in 1984. He can still remember the first job he ever did.  The business is family run.
“My wife’s the boss, I’m her employee and our children own the business,” Hess said with a smile. Rather than downsizing and taking shortcuts, Hess and his wife decided to upgrade their equipment, “In this economy we want to be able to offer the best to our customers.”
True to his word, Hess is not your average carpet cleaner. John’s Chem-Dry of Whatcom County uses a “green cleaning” process.  The Chem-Dry system consumes less water, uses less energy (with the new Direct Drive), obeys all environmental disposal laws and uses a non-toxic cleaning solution that received ITC Labs green certification.  The Chem-Dry proprietary carbonated cleaning system is unique for sending millions of carbonating bubbles deep within the carpet fibers to dissolve and extract dirt and stains.  With Chem-Dry, carpets are left sparkling clean in only one to two hours—not one to two days.  That’s because Chem-Dry uses one-fifth the moisture that conventional steam cleaners use.
The new Direct Drive has the capacity to support two PowerHead devices.  Hess is now running two vacuum hoses from the single truck-mount and two technicians are getting the work done twice as fast. With this new Chem-Dry process, carpet can dry in less than an hour in the summertime, allowing customers to move back their furniture and get back into their routine quickly.
Do to the proficient design of the Direct Drive equipment the solution is hotter, and the vacuum has more power than ever before, allowing and even better clean.
